Mundu TV has reached 5 million Downloads on the Nokia Store. Mundu TV app reached more than 5 million downloads and has held its place as one of the top 10 free apps on the Nokia Store with an average of 400,000 downloads per month in less than a year.

Mundu TV provides live and archived television from top content providers worldwide, bringing a personalized TV experience to viewers across the globe, regardless of location or network. Viewers can watch a range of genres, from business and news to sports and entertainment, including live coverage of events such as cricket.

They plan to launch new features including, Video-On-Demand (VOD), social media integration, enhanced usability, and many more international channels by early 2012.

Download Mundu TV app for Nokia Symbian S60 v3, S60 v5 devices, including Symbian^3 devices from the Nokia Store. The app would soon be available for the Windows Phone 7 devices and Series 40 (S40) Nokia phones.

LG Optimus L3 E400, a new unannounced Android smartphone is on pre-order from a online retailer in Sweden. It comes with a 3.2-inch (240 x 320 pixels) display and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The phone has a unique design and looks like a mid-ranger device according to the specs.

It also comes with a 3MP camera, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm headset jack, and MicroSD card support (up to 32GB).

It is priced at 1,290 Swedish kronor (US$ 191) in Sweden and comes in Black, and White colors. There are no details about the processor, memory and the battery. Let’s wait for the official announcement from LG. It might also be announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus India Launch postponed to March ?

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is actually a sweet device and currently the only one in the world according to my knowledge to run on Android 4.0 also known as ICS. The Galaxy Nexus is the 3rd member of the Nexus family of devices from Google and it is a c0-branded handset from Google and Samsung which runs on stock Android without any customization. The device was supposed to be launched in November last year and was postponed to December. Now more bad news as Samsung India’s official account tweeted that the device will now be tentatively launched in March. Still no definitive date though. Having used the Galaxy Nexus for around a month now , I actually like the device for a few things - Ice Cream Sandwich , it will be the first device to get Android updates as it is pushed directly by Google. The Camera is also incredibly fast.One thing i dislike about the device is the low quality of build materials used. Each time I open the back cover, I have a feeling it will break.
I don’t understand what is stopping Samsung from releasing this handset soon in India. Are they afraid of jeopardizing sales of other Android devices like the Galaxy S2 and Note.Another reason could be the strong demand for the handset in Europe and USA.

Huawei MediaPad is finally on sale in India from online retailers after their announcement last November. It was announced globally last June and comes with a 7-inch (1280×800 IPS) LCD display, Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS (Upgradable to Android 4.0) and it is powered by Dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor. It has 5MP audo-focus camera and 1.3MP front camera. It is just 10.5mm thick and weighs 390g.

The connectivity includes 3G(HSPA+ 14.4Mbps/EVDO Rev B/TD), Wi-Fi 802.11b /g / n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and GPS/A-GPS. Other features include, FM Radio, 3.5mm stereo audio jack, Stereo speaker, HDMI,USIM Card Slot and 32GB expandable memory slot. It comes with 4100mAh that offers 6h working time.

Huawei announced at CES 2012 that MediaPad tablets would ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and announced the MediaPad color series that would be available in Q1 2012. Existing users would also get the Android 4.0 in Q1 2012.

The Huawei MediaPad is now available from online retailer Letsbuy in India at Rs. 28,000.

A retail promotional video for the Motorola DROID RAZR has been released that shows off all the things we already know about the highly anticipated device and gets us all even more excited for its upcoming release on 11/11/11.

The promotional video is a nice reminder that the DROID RAZR is perhaps everything we could ask for in a device, save for a serving of Ice Cream Sandwich that will not be included at the time of its launch. With its 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED Advanced display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor and an 8 megapixel camera that can record video in full 1080p HD this handset oozes high-end. HTC Edge may be one of the first quad-core smartphones

While we all anxiously await the arrival of the Asus Transformer Prime tablet which will reportedly pack the Tegra 3 quad-core processor, it appears as though a device from HTC known as the Edge may be one of the first smartphones to feature a quad-core of its own.

If the rumored specs of the HTC Edge turn out to be true, then what we have here is quite the beast of a handset. The Edge is a slab-style Android device, possibly of the Ice Cream Sandwich type. It has a 4.-7-inch 720p HD display which is sure to make this device a media powerhouse. On the back of the smartphone is said to be an 8 megapixel camera that will surely record video in 1080p HD while a front-facing camera also appears to be present.

What is most exciting about this device is the real possibility that it will pack a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor. That would make it the first smartphone of its kind. Along with the rumored quad-core the Edge will also have 1GB of RAM. The only question that needs to be asked is will the Android platform be able to take advantage of the Tegra 3? Similar questions have been raised about the Asus Transformer Prime which appears to be only a few months away from hitting the market.

The quad-core processor might not be the only first for the HTC Edge. HTC may be overlaying the Android operating system with the newest version of their custom user interface, Sense 4.0. Moreover, given HTC’s recent acquisition of the Beats audio enhancing technology and its inclusion in smartphones such as the HTC Sensation XE and the upcoming HTC Rezound it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it in the Edge as well.

Nokia lumina 800 vs Nokia N9 - comparison

The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first device from Nokia showcasing the result of the partnership between them and Microsoft. However the phone which had really caught the imagination of smartphone enthusiasts all over the world was the Nokia N9.

Now it is very clear that the Nokia 800 borrows heavily from the design of the N9 but why change something which is obviously gorgeous ? So what has changed between them ? Read on to take a closer look at some of the obvious (and non obvious differences) !

Software

One look at the homescreen and you can see the world of difference between the MeeGo Harmattan OS on the N9 vs Windows Phone 7 on the 800. The WP7 operating system relies on a system of ‘Live Tiles’ which represents app icons both static and dynamic in a form of tiles.

On the other hand MeeGo Harmattan on the Nokia N9 does not include widgets in any form. What you do get are notifications of messages and call notifications on the standby screen and in the events view panel. The Nokia N9 relies on a 3 panel system varying between notifications , apps and multitasking bypassing the concept of a desktop as such. The Nokia 800 on the other hand has a secondary menu with a full listing of apps.

With Windows Phone 7.5 ie Mango, it is now possible to search for apps using the icon on the left which brings up the keyboard. Moving on to the multitasking experience , there is a fundamental difference between the two devices. The N9 lets you open as many apps as you want and displays them in a grid.

The multi tasking UI on the Nokia 800 is on the other hand is quite similar to Symbian^3. Well in looks anyways as WP7 restricts you to 6 apps at a time to ensure the best experience possible without slowing down the OS. Minor differences between the two devices also includes the style of keyboard.

Both keyboards work well and are considered to be amongst the best , most definitely leagues ahead of the one Nokia users generally deal with on Symbian devices. While both the phones sport what is believed to be the same camera module along with Carl Zeiss Optics , the camera software on board is definitely different. Hardware

Hardware differences between the N9 and the Nokia 800 are few but definitely worth noting. At first glance the two phones are very similar. Dimensions of the two devices are almost identical down to the mm. It is pretty much impossible to differentiate between the two if spotted from the side. However there are a few key differentiating elements in the hardware as well.

The right side of the Nokia 800 sports volume keys along with a power key which acts as a screen lock key as well. An important differentiating factor here is the camera key which is missing on the Nokia N9.

Moving to the back of the phone we can spot the relocated dual LED flash.

It is easy to differentiate between the two devices from the front. The Nokia 800 has a rather large Windows logo present under the display which also acts as the home key.

The display on the Lumia 800 is a bit smaller at 3.7″ than the 3.9″ panel on the Nokia N9. The display loses 4 pixels in comparison to the N9 but is definitely bright and more importantly highly legible in sunlight.

The Nokia N9 is the first and the last MeeGo Harmattan handset. Moreover it marks the end of an era. With a limited release , Nokia has paved the path for the 800 to fill in the void for those lusting after the N9′s design. With a competitive OS , growing ecosystem and great looking hardware , the Nokia 800 marks the beginning of a new era for Nokia , one which we’re looking forward to !

Samsung has launched their new Android smartphone device, the Samsung GALAXY Note. It has 5.3 inch (1280 x 800 pixels), 285 PPI HD Super AMOLED display which is the largest on any phone till date. It features 1.4GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen for sketching and artwork. It is 9.65mm thick and weighs 178g.

It has 8 MP camera with LED Flash that could record 1080p HD videos at 24~30fps and play videos at 1080p and has 2 MP front facing video calling camera. The connectivity features include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with WiFi Direct, 3G HSPA＋ at 21Mbps, Bluetooth v 3.0, A-GPS and NFC (optional). It has Stereo FM Radio with RDS, 16GB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB with MicroSD and an 2,500mAh battery.

They have also added a new category, S Choice in the Samsung Apps that features apps that are designed for the Galaxy Note S Pen. There are pre-installed Chat-on Messaging app and S Planner planning tool that integrates with the phone’s To-do tool.

The Samsung GALAXY Note is priced at Rs. 34,990 (MRP) and it would be available across India by next week.

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio up for pre-order at Rs. 32400

HTC announced the HTC Sensation XE, their first phone with Beats audio integration this September. The phone is now available for pre-order from the Online retailer Flipkart and it is expected to be available this month. The HTC Sensation XE runs on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), features 1.5GHz Dual core processor and has extended battery. It also has aluminum uni-body.

The HTC Sensation XE comes with a 4.3 inch (540 X 960 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 8MP auto focus camera with dual LED flash and 1080p HD video recording, Secondary VGA camera, 768MB RAM, 1 GB internal memory, expandable up to 32GB with MicroSD, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, FM Radio and Beats Audio.
